Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa #50 Celebrates 90 Year Anniversary!
Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa #50 celebrated its 90th anniversary during the week of October 14-20, 2019!
The service club, which supports underprivileged youth and provides leadership opportunities for young adults, celebrated its rich history of service in Sonoma County by remembering past members and honoring event chairs and outstanding active members at a gala on October 18.
The event took place during "Active 20-30 Week" -- a designation proclaimed by the Santa Rosa City Council for the week of October 14-20, 2019 in Santa Rosa to commemorate the club's 90th anniversary and long history of service in the community.
The gala event also served to recognize club members' thousands of volunteer hours with events and projects that directly benefit youth over the last year:
- Served as umpires and catchers for months of Little League's North Bay Challenger Division, which gives intellectually and/or physically challenged youth the opportunity to participate in a baseball league structured to their abilities.
- Took dozens of youth on Kids Fishing Trip to teach them to fish and enjoy an experience they might not otherwise get.
- Volunteered at North Bay Science Challenge to help kids appreciate science through various games and projects
