Santa Rosa Symphony Announces Two New Staff Members
Santa Rosa Symphony recently added two new staff members: Ann Hutchinson as Marketing Associate in September 2016 and Nathan Duckworth as Development Associate in February 2017.
Ann Hutchinson formerly worked as a freelance journalist and as staff writer for a national trade publication. A California native, she has lived in Sonoma County since 1981.
Executive Director Alan Silow says, “Ann brings a wealth of diverse experience in writing, marketing and public relations that will serve her and us well in her capacity as marketing associate of the Santa Rosa Symphony.”
Hutchinson has been writing from every side of the equation for more than a decade: fiction and memoir author, journalist and publicist. Writing flash fiction (under 1000 words) honed her ability to be concise. She loves writing brief, attention-getting copy. When she’s not at work, she’s out dancing with her husband, writing songs or running Sonoma County Dance Beat, an online community calendar.
Nathan Duckworth previously served as editor-in-chief of the Patterson Irrigator newspaper in Patterson, California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Stanislaus. Duckworth recently relocated to Sonoma County from Tracy, Calif.
“Nathan’s strong journalistic background will serve him and the organization well in his capacity as our major grant writer,” says Silow.
Duckworth says, “I’m excited to be working in a position that directly supports community building and the arts.”
In his downtime, Duckwork enjoys reading, writing and seeking out critical conversations around everything from music to games to literature.
