Sonoma County Library is here to help with your back-to-school needs. Are you a parent of a school-age child? A student yourself? Maybe you want to enrich your life and continue your personal learning journey. The library has online educational resources at sonomalibrary.org/school for learners of all ages, in English and Spanish.

“Back to school season can be an exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking time. Whether you are the parent of a new kindergartener or an adult going back to school, your local library has the answers to your questions,” said Rachel Icaza, Sonoma County Library Education Initiatives Specialist. “In every part of the community, there is a library with professional librarians eager to help connect your questions to the right answers.”

School-Age

  • Students of any age can connect with free tutors and more at Tutor.com.
  • BookFlix pairs classic children’s picture books with a related nonfiction eBook. Puzzles, games and age-appropriate web links allow kids to further explore.
  • Find educational eBooks and eAudiobooks, and stream movies, music, newspapers and magazines, with eResources like hoopla, the Libby app, OverDrive and Kanopy. Enjoy children’s and teen collections!
  • National Geographic Kids houses books, videos, magazines and pictures produced by National Geographic for children.

Adult Education

  • LearningExpress Library features nearly 1,000 online tutorials, practice tests and eBooks.
  • Learn business, technology and creative skills with LinkedIn Learning’s video tutorials.
  • Students of any age can connect with free tutors and more at Tutor.com.
  • Great Courses are expertly produced audio and video courses by professors such as Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Access the Great Courses collection on Kanopy, OverDrive and hoopla.
