United Way of the Wine Country needs YOU to volunteer for the 24-25 Earn it! Keep it! Save it! Tax Assistance Program!
The United Way of the Wine Country and its coalition of trusted community partners across five counties invites you to volunteer for our Earn It! Keep It! $ave It! (EKS) - VITA Free Tax Assistance Program for the 2024-2025 Tax Season.
Train in January to volunteer February-April to be part of our huge community impact for those who need it the most.
During last tax season, our amazing volunteers helped bring back $9 million in State and Federal tax refunds ($100 million through time) to our local low-to-moderate income individuals and families, helping many of them file for the first time by providing free ITIN applications and renewals. Volunteers helped clients who made less than $79,000 combined household income to build more financial stability in their lives, as well as provided education and access to other financial asset-building resources that will help them thrive in the long run. Our volunteers are the heart of our program! The need for your time and talents has never been more urgent.
It’s that time again where we are seeking to recruit and train Tax Preparers, Intake Coordinators (Greeters), and Interpreters for our community tax sites across the five counties in which we serve (see attached volunteer opportunity descriptions). Our veteran volunteers may have already heard from their eager Site Coordinator (SC) from last year and confirmed their participation for this upcoming season. We need all volunteers, returning and new, to go through our volunteer portal registration process to add you as an EKS volunteer for this upcoming season. (Note: if you do not see your preferred site listed in the volunteer portal, it means they are no longer an active tax site next tax season. Please choose another site whose schedule works for you.)
See volunteer position descriptions in the links below.
