Vitalant & Screamin' Mimi's to Host Pint-for-Pint Blood Drive
Vitalant, your local blood bank with a national reach, and Screamin’ Mimi’s are partnering for the 13th Annual Pint-for-Pint Blood Drive. To support social distancing and accommodate a high volume of donors, the blood drive will be held at Sebastopol Community Cultural Center located at 390 Morris Street.
“Since we began this blood drive in 2007, thousands of lives have been impacted and over 1,500 delicious pints of ice cream donated by Screamin’ Mimi’s,” remarked Andrea Casson, Vitalant Donor Recruitment Manager. Casson added that “This year is exceptional as COVID-19 poses challenges to the blood supply on a national level. Having a large indoor venue and the support of Mimi’s will help to keep the blood supply at an adequate level for our community.”
Owner of Screamin’ Mimi’s, Maraline Olson and her team worked hard to stay open during the pandemic and strive to create a safe environment for customers and staff. The day of the blood drive, there will be a special pint pick up window. When asked why she supports this important lifesaving event Olson remarked, “What better way to motivate people to donate blood than ice cream?”
