A Coalition Focused on Water Sustainability
The preservation of our water resources is a key element of our community and our members’ ability to do business. Therefore, it is imperative for the business community along with all other groups in our area to act directly and immediately on measures that will reduce our use of water.
Towards that end, the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the North Bay Leadership Council, Sonoma County Alliance, the Sonoma County Winegrowers Commission and local water agencies to form the North Bay Water Sustainability Coalition. The goal of this coalition is to communicate best practices and tips so water conservation becomes a normal everyday behavior much like recycling.
The North Bay Water Sustainability Coalition kicked off its program July 9 with a press event and drought awareness event at Friedman's Home Improvement store in Santa Rosa.
We are working with Santa Rosa Water and the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership to leverage the water use efficiency resources, tools and rebates available to the business community. Together we are building a Business Toolkit to inform our local businesses about ways they can save water while maintaining and improving productivity.
We also want to highlight members who have already acted to reduce their water consumption and share their water saving success stories to help inspire other businesses to save water now and in the future.
Working together with the North Bay Water Sustainability Coalition and all of the water providers in the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership we can help our businesses thrive and secure our water future.
