Advocacy Council Focuses on Climate Action Plan

In representing the interests of our business membership, the Advocacy Council has actively pursued modifications to the City's Draft Climate Action Plan. The Advocacy Council is in favor of Green House Gas reductions in a sensible, economically fair environment. The focus of our dialogue with our city colleagues has been in two key areas:

1. Requesting reconsideration to current items that have high costs and low contributions to Green House Gas emission reductions;
2. We question the timeliness in this economic recession of the City's desire to pursue a more stringent requirement than the state requirements.

We believe the Community Development Department, the Planning Commission, and the City Council has been receptive to the feedback.
