City Continues to Move Towards Reunifying Courthouse Square
With the support of the Chamber and the Coalition to Restore Courthouse Square, the City Council last night approved moving forward with hiring design consultants for the Courthouse Square reunification project. The Chamber has volunteered to assist in this process by working with the City to gather input from the business community as well as members of the entire community about their desires for the sorts of activities the Square should accommodate.
"We're very pleased with the Council's actions," said Jonathan Coe, Chamber President. "Both the Council and City staff are moving the project forward quickly to ensure it's completed by the next (2016) holiday season. We're also happy to offer our help in gathering input for the design process."
To collect input, the Chamber plans to conduct an online survey within the next few months and is exploring the possibility of hosting a public forum. In the meantime, comments or questions can be directed to Jonathan at jonathanc@santarosachamber.com.
