Leadership Awards at Good Morning Santa Rosa

On April 11, Leadership Santa Rosa (LSR) and the Chamber presented LSR's 6th Annual Excellence in Leadership Awards and the overall 2012 Bob Blanchard Leadership Award at Good Morning Santa Rosa. The Excellence in Leadership Awards recognizes community leaders in ten categories who exemplify the leadership qualities of vision, service and effective collaboration in creating a better Sonoma County for all.

Dr. Ruben Armiñana, President of Sonoma State University, was awarded the overall 2012 Bob Blanchard Leadership Award, and the category winners were are follows:

Agriculture: Lex McCorvey, Sonoma County Farm Bureau

Business & Economy: Kevin Smith, Agilent Technologies

Education: Ruben Armiñana, Sonoma State University

Government: Suzanne Smith, Sonoma County Transportation Authority

Green Issues & Opportunities: Genevieve Taylor, Global Genesis

Health & Human Services: Judy Coffey, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center

Hospitality & Tourism: Percy Brandon, Vintners Inn

Media & Marketing: Bruce Kyse, The Press Democrat

Planning & Development: American Institute of Architects (AIA) Redwood Empire Chapter

Public Safety: David MacDonald, Santa Rosa Police Department
