Leadership in a Time of Drought
With California now in the fourth year of the worst drought in recorded history, the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce is taking steps to help area businesses participate in water conservation efforts. At the June 9th Sonoma County Board of Supervisors meeting, the Chamber was joined by the North Bay Leadership Council, Sonoma County Alliance and the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission in signing on to the Drought Relief Private-Public Partnership.
Through this partnership, the Chamber will be highlighting water conservation best practices as well as resources and rebate programs that will make a difference. In the coming weeks and months, the Chamber will be working with area water agencies to package and distribute this information as actionable items.
Many member businesses are already making significant strides in water conservation. A recent article in the Press Democrat highlighted actions taken by area hospitals including Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, Petaluma Valley Hospital, Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center. As our community of businesses moves forward with these conservation efforts, we look forward to hearing and publicizing your conservation success stories.
