Leadership Santa Rosa Class 40 had an incredible Business, Economy & Tourism Day last week at Hyatt Regency Sonoma where they gained valuable insights from local experts on the hospitality industry’s impact on our region’s economy

From the warm welcome over breakfast to the insightful presentations, the day was a journey through the heart of Sonoma County’s economy and hospitality. Dr. Robert Eyler from SSU set the stage with his deep dive into the local economy, followed by a dynamic tourism panel featuring our very own Janelle Meyers who leads our Visit Santa Rosa program, Claudia Vecchio from Sonoma County Tourism, and Bert Whitaker from Sonoma County Regional Parks.

The exploration continued with the Economy of Wine, Beer, and Spirits panel, where Kim Lapides (Class 39) skillfully guided discussions with Alison Smith Story, Rob Saccuzzo, and Alanna Hanson. Lunchtime brought a delightful meal at 19Ten Bar & Provisions, sponsored by Keysight, paired with a walking tour of Railroad Square’s unique businesses.

Capping off the day was a spirited Business Plan Reverse Shark Tank activity, fostering creativity and collaboration, followed by an introduction to the upcoming Government and Politics Day. Huge thanks to the dedicated planning committee and all who contributed to this enriching experience!
