The Santa Rosa Metro Chamber successfully and virtually hosted the fourth employer roundtable discussion on child care on August 27th. Nineteen employers from across Santa Rosa joined us for a presentation from Melanie Dodson, Executive Director of Community Child Care Council Sonoma County (4Cs).
The session focused on 4Cs Emergency Pop-Up Child Care toolkit, which helps businesses set up a temporary, non-licensed child care program during a short term disaster. The toolkit covers basic information on staffing, space, space templates, documentation, programs and activity materials, meals and snacks, and a program day example. Because we are in the middle of a public health crisis and in the midst of fire season, the toolkit can be helpful in planning ahead for future crisis situations.
High-quality, affordable child care is critical to the productivity and strength of the current and future workforce, and the business case for employer supported child care is clear. LEARN MORE
