Prioritizing Investment of PG&E Settlement Funds
A $95M settlement from PG&E for 2017 wildfire damages has been received by the City of Santa Rosa, and the City Council wants input on how to prioritize allocation.
The Metro Chamber fully supports the use of funds for strengthening fire services and making whole those who are still dealing with fire impacts. But in addition to fire recovery projects, the Council also expects to consider a range of other projects aimed at strengthening the resiliency of the community.
To lay the groundwork for long term recovery, our small business community desperately needs all the support it can get today as many are still dealing with the fallout from wildfires and now the pandemic. The Chamber has also identified several policy priorities that would be most impactful in maximizing opportunities for economic recovery and resiliency. See the policy priorities.
We urge you to let the Council know your take on current and pressing needs, and what these funds could do to support business and accelerate recovery for our economy and community.
