Robert Muelrath to Receive Leadership in Agriculture Award at 44th Ag-BBQ
The Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Robert Muelrath, owner and operator of Muelrath Ranches, will receive the Leadership in Agriculture award at this year’s Agri-Business BBQ on August 18th. (view event details or purchase tickets)
Muelrath is a second-generation Sonoma County farmer. His family’s Sonoma County farming legacy started in Bodega Bay in 1936 with a small dairy and poultry operation that relocated to their current Santa Rosa farm in 1946. For 38 years Muelrath ran his dairy business, served on multiple dairy and milk producer boards, and has been president of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau. Today, Muelrath Ranches is a dairy replacement heifer and beef cattle operation that grows certified organic silage and hay and offers custom grazing.
In the broader community, Muelrath’s ranch is best known for its pumpkin patch where he grows an amazing range of sustainably farmed, pesticide-free pumpkins and winter squash—everything from miniature to giant orbs with colors that span the fall palette. From the cornstalk maze and hay rides to the pumpkin launching slingshot, Muelrath’s pumpkin patch has offered great family fun and a farm experience to our community for decades.
