Showcase Platinum Sponsor Highlights Sonoma County Food Industry
Sonoma County BEST's Food Industry Group (FIG) has joined Showcase Sonoma County as the Platinum Sponsor to highlight this thriving sector of Sonoma County's economy.
Sonoma County, with its connection to local agriculture and markets, is a central hub for all types of food production. Nationwide, there's big talk about farm-to-table, but the natural food industry has long been rooted in the culture of the North Bay starting way back with Luther Burbank, who planted the seeds of this movement in the mid-1800s.
And while food and beverage manufacturing is declining across the United States, it's growing in the North Bay. Moreover, according to recent research by Dr. Rob Eyler of Sonoma State University, every 100 food manufacturing jobs in the region support over 300 other jobs -- from banking and finance to restaurant and wholesale.
Be sure to stop by their booth at the Showcase to sample specialty food products from companies like La Tortilla Factory, Traditional Medicinals and Amy's Kitchen. The FIG booth at the Showcase is supported and sponsored by Sonoma County BEST, Pisenti & Brinker LLP, Bank of America and Warren Capital.
Join the event on Facebook, share it with friends and colleagues, or visit the Showcase event page on the Chamber's website for more information.
And after the Showcase, stay for the Celebration After Hours Mixer where there will be live music, beverages and appetizers, and plenty of network-building opportunities. (Sponsored by Social Butterfly Effect)
