YPN Member Profile: Mohammed Ibrahim, Keysight
Mohammed is the incoming Communications Chair on the YPN Advisory Board and works as a Sr. Microcircuit Test Electrical Engineer at Keysight. Mohammed's fascination with how things work and the challenge of solving problems have always been his practical focus in engineering.
The potential to integrate new technologies into real-life applications and the opportunity to develop practical skills in this sphere is exciting and gives him a chance to try something new every day.
Mohammed is a proud resident of Sonoma County and an active participant in his community, including YPN, Leadership Santa Rosa, and more.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do.
I earned my Master of Engineering Science from Sonoma State University in 2021. Besides my engineering role at Keysight, I am one of the core team members that lead and facilitate a community of young engineers at Keysight named “NextGen.”
I currently serve as the Communication Chair on the advisory board of the Santa Rosa Young Professional Network (YPN). I also serve as 1st Vice President on the board of directors of the Sonoma County Beekeepers Association. My main interests and hobbies are socializing and making new friends, Olympic-style weightlifting, Beekeeping (2nd Gen), traveling, hiking, and attending Formula 1 Races.
What brought you to Sonoma County, and why did you join YPN?
I ended up in Sonoma County in 2016 by accident!!! (It was not a choice, but here I am. ) I fell in love with the nature surrounding Sonoma County and its amazing community. I joined YPN to develop my leadership skills and network with like-minded young professionals in Sonoma County.
What are you most proud of having accomplished in this past year?
I am proud that my hard work and giving back to the community are paying off. Last year. I have been promoted to senior-level Electrical Engineer at Keysight and received the President's Volunteer Service Award several times over the last 7 years of living in Sonoma County.
What are you most excited for in 2023?
I am very excited to be part of Leadership Santa Rosa, class 39. I have always been passionate about being part of a leadership program that brings talented leaders together to learn from each other and give back to our community. and of course, excited to be part of the YPN family for the third term.
What else would you like other members to know about you?
I am a lifelong learner and a hardworking individual, but most importantly, I love helping others and giving back to the community. I enjoy being around people, listening to their stories, and learning about their cultures. I am an adventurer and problem solver with great ideas.
