YPN Member Spotlight: Brooke Philbin, Keysight Technologies
YPN member spotlights are a quick introduction to some of our favorite YPN members. This month, we're spotlighting Brooke Philbin, Global Commodity Manager at Keysight Technologies.
What brought you to Sonoma County, and why did you join YPN?
I grew up in Sonoma County and attended Windsor High School. Later, I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, to pursue a degree in Business Management with a Minor in Marketing at Edinburgh Napier University. Eventually, I returned to California to start my “Adult Life,” drawn by the fantastic weather, the much-needed vitamin D, and the chance to put my degree to good use.
Back in Sonoma County, I established my career at Keysight and embraced the company culture. Wanting to expand my network further, and encouraged by Keysight who has a corporate memebership, I joined YPN to connect with like-minded, career-driven individuals outside my industry and regular work circle. My goal was to establish stronger roots in the area and within the community.
I see YPN as a fantastic opportunity for professional networking and, more importantly, for building genuine personal friendships within the community. Sonoma County is a beautiful place to live, and with the right community supporting each other, we can all thrive as young professionals.
What is your favorite YPN memory, and why?
One of my favorite YPN memories was at the Trione Winery Bash event, where I won a raffle prize with Mohammed Ibrahim. Winning was a thrill—especially since I rarely win anything! The winery tour was incredibly thorough, and we learned so much, thanks to Elaina Diamond.
This event stands out because I saw familiar faces from various networking groups and activities I’m involved in, including Keysight coworkers, Leadership Santa Rosa Cohorts, friends from SoCoGals Walk (shout out to Francisca!), and others from the Sonoma County Dance and Pilates communities. It was heartwarming to reflect on the strong community I’ve become a part of and continue to nurture in Sonoma County.
Attending YPN and Chamber of Commerce events has allowed me to meet and build genuine connections with like-minded individuals I might not have otherwise encountered. I thrive on deep, meaningful connections and enjoy investing in the lives of those around me. Creating a sense of authentic connection, strong community, and belonging has been incredibly enriching, and I look forward to continuing to grow my roots in Sonoma County.
Share with us a fun fact that not many people know about!
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, but moved to the US as a child. Growing up stateside, I’ve mostly lost my accent—except when I’m chatting with family. There are still a few words that trip me up—just wait until you hear me say “anything” or “everything”!
I have a passion for travel and have been fortunate enough to visit 25 countries so far. I’ve even seen three of the Seven Wonders of the World: the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, and the Taj Mahal 😊. I’m excited for more adventures in the near future!
What are your favorite Sonoma County/Santa Rosa activities?
Sonoma County is a treasure trove of natural beauty, and I love exploring its many trails through hiking. Another favorite activity is taking Pilates classes at Windsor Fitness Club or Energize. I also enjoy attending YPN or Chamber of Commerce networking events and supporting local non-profits I’ve discovered through Leadership Santa Rosa.
For a treat, I indulge in a ‘fancy’ matcha or coffee from one of the local coffee shops, or enjoy a delicious dinner and craft cocktail in Healdsburg for a night out.
